SICKLE CELL

SICKLE CELL

Human blood contains red and white blood cells, which are transported by plasma, the fluid portion of the blood. It is a fluid that transports oxygen and nutrients to the body’s cells and brings back carbon dioxide and other waste products.

The mature human red blood cell is small, round, and biconcave, it appears dumbbell-shaped in profile. The cell is flexible and assumes a bell shape as it passes through extremely small blood vessels. It is covered with a membrane composed of lipids and proteins, lacks a nucleus, and contains hemoglobin, a red iron-rich protein that binds and carries the oxygen to all our body’s organs and carries back the waste products to be eliminated by the lungs, kidneys, and liver.

Sickle Cell is an extremely rare disease with only approximately 100,000 people affected in the US and mostly people of color pigmented skin. The countries most affected by this disease are in Africa.

It is a rare blood disorder where some of the red blood cells, instead of being round and flexible, look like sickles used to cut wheat (like a portion of a donut). These abnormally shaped cells give the disease its name.

Every cell in our body dies and is replaced by a new cell. For an unknown reason, these sickle cells die six to twelve times faster than normal red cells, ten to twenty days compared to hundred twenty days, become hard and sticky on dying, and get stuck in the small blood vessels, which causes debilitating pain, and may cause strokes and organ failure.

Sickle Cell Disease is often referred to as Sickle Cell Anemia, which means that it is related to cancer. As seen in CANCER, cancer is defined as a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth and can spread throughout your body.

It is important here to remember what you have read in the first six sections of this website especially Dr. Jacob’s observed “MSM’S KNOWN KNOWN BENEFITS” section.

Dr. Jacob observed that MSM dilates the blood vessels, increases blood flow, and has an immune normalizing effect observed in autoimmune diseases and even in cancer. See CANCER.

These observations have been verified in many of the six hundred peer reviewed studies on MSM’s benefits for different health conditions including many types of cancers in the last twenty years.

In my experience, MSM dilates my hands and feet blood vessels up to four times their normal diameter. By rubbing my hands with the MSM gel, I show people this visible MSM benefit on the top of my hands which increases blood flow more than twelve times.

Sulfur In our body forms part of virtually all tissues, especially those highest in protein, such as red blood cells, brain, muscles, skin, and hair.

These MSM’s benefits give us a strong reason to try MSM to see if it will have the same effect on the sickle red blood cells as it has on cancer cells.

Because very few people are afflicted by this disease, no one ever went to Dr. Jacob’s clinic to see if DMSO or MSM may help.

And the few physicians treating the patients afflicted by this disease are not aware of:
1. All the work done by Dr. Jacob on the importance of sulfur and MSM in our life, and especially at the cell level. See CANCER.
2. And the many published peer reviewed studies of the last twenty some years that have reported that MSM protects the cells from becoming cancerous and transforms cancer cells into normal cells. What Dr. Jacob had observed in laboratory mice experiences in 1986.

In a study published May 16, 2022, in Blood Advances, a Journal of the American Society of Hematology, researchers found that privately insured individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) spend approximately $1.7 million on disease-related medical expenses over their lifetime. These findings highlight the enormous economic burden affecting individuals living with SCD and raise questions about how medical advancements, like gene therapy, may one day factor in the cost of care.

SCD is the most common inherited red blood cell disorder in the United States, affecting an estimated 100,000 people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), SCD affects one out of every 365 Black or African American births and one out of every 16,300 Hispanic American births. Considering that SCD disproportionately affects Black and Hispanic communities, such excessive health care costs put even further inordinate financial constraints on these populations.

This research, funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Cure Sickle Cell Initiative, not only brought the exorbitant total medical costs attributable to SCD to light but also uncovered that people with SCD pay significant out-of-pocket costs on private insurance plans.

“Our findings suggest that the lifetime out-of-pocket cost of medical care is about $44,000 for people with SCD,” explained study author Kate Johnson, PhD, of the Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy & Economics (CHOICE) Institute, Department of Pharmacy, University of Washington. “For this population, the annual out of pocket cost burden could be five to ten percent of their annual income.”

Another recent study estimated the life expectancy of adults with SCD to be 54 years, which is approximately 20 years shorter than that of normal adults without SCD.

One has nothing to lose in trying MSM. One may be able to stop their expensive drugs with their side effects that might trigger allergic reactions.

If you are affected by this condition, why not spend $1-$2 a day on MSM to see if it may help not only with your sickle cell disease but with your overall health. It may very well extend your life expectancy.

You will be using a natural constituent of your body in a fully nontoxic natural process without medicines side effects and their excessive cost. It should also help in your overall health condition and protect you against other diseases that often affect people with this disease.

It is suggested to take 2,000 to 6,000 mg of MSM daily in the form of crystals or capsules to see if it helps. Start with the lower dose and increase slowly as you go until you reach the level that seems to bring a change without giving you any side effect.

Notice: Every time you use the MSM therapeutic topical gel, make sure your hands and the massaged area are clean because the MSM penetrates the skin, and one does not want to infect the skin with dirt. Also make sure that you rub the MSM gel in until your hands and the massaged area are completely dry to avoid the MSM gel carrying any foreign particle. The demineralized water-based gel contains 15% MSM, which is the maximum to avoid crystallization. So, to prevent the gel from crystallizing, do not forget to close the MSM gel bottle lid after use.
