ENDOMETRIOSIS

ENDOMETRIOSIS

NOTE: This health condition is not reported by Dr. Jacob.

Endometriosis is not yet classified as an autoimmune condition, but it seems to increase the risk of autoimmune conditions. It affects two to ten percent of women twenty to forty years old in the US.

The role of our autoimmune system is to protect our body from invaders. However, if it gets out of balance for any reason, it attacks the body itself and can create all kinds of reactions. In many cases, like in endometriosis, inflammation is one of the reactions.

Some published peer reviewed studies indicated some association of endometriosis with autoimmune conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune thyroid disorder, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Other published peer reviewed studies indicated a high susceptibility to allergic reactions, asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), and certain drugs because of the patients response to some irritants.

Endometriosis increases your chances of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Endometriosis lesions are benign, but they have been seen to have cancer-associated mutations.

All these disorders associated with endometriosis are well treated with MSM as reported by Dr. Jacob.

Because of the many indications that endometriosis is an autoimmune disorder and because of MSM’s known autoimmune benefits, there is a high possibility that MSM may help.

If you have endometriosis or know someone who has, understanding all the associated conditions is important for living with this condition. Just remember that endometriosis is a chronic condition that can affect your long-term health.

According to much of the literature on this condition, it is important to be more careful about the food you eat. Fibrous foods, iron-rich foods, foods rich in essential fatty acids, and antioxidant-rich foods are known to positively affect endometriosis.

However, most medical information available will not talk about MSM for lack of MSM and sulfur deficiency knowledge. In my opinion, all sulfur rich food should be added to the positively affecting endometriosis foods mentioned above.

On the other side, alcohol, caffeine, gluten, red meat, saturated and trans-fat are known to negatively affect endometriosis.

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, drinking alcohol can harm the female reproductive system throughout various stages of life. Researchers point out that alcohol can alter the typical menstrual cycle, the reproductive function, and can also lead to changes in hormone levels among postmenopausal women.

Before taking some drugs with their side effects that might trigger an allergic reaction, if you are affected by this condition, why not spend $5-$10 a day on MSM to see if it may help not only with your endometriosis but with your overall health.

You will be using a natural constituent of your body in a fully nontoxic natural process without medicines side effects and their excessive cost. It should also help with your overall health condition and most importantly protect you against ovarian cancer. See “CANCER.”

It is suggested to take 2,000 to 6,000 mg of MSM daily in the form of crystals or capsules to see if it helps. Start with the lower dose and increase slowly as you go until you reach the level that seems to bring some relief.
