HYPERHIDROSIS - SWEAT

HYPERHIDROSIS - SWEAT

Note: Here is another condition not mentioned in Dr. Jacob’s books.

The only reason I address this condition here is because I happened to learn about urine therapy to treat plantar hyperhidrosis.

Sweating is your body's mechanism to cool itself. Your nervous system automatically triggers your sweat glands that are right under the skin when your body temperature rises. The sweat glands then trigger the sweat out in the areas affected.

The most common form of hyperhidrosis is called primary focal hyperhidrosis. With this type, the nerves responsible for signaling your sweat glands become overactive, even though they have not been triggered by physical activity or a rise in temperature. With stress or nervousness, the condition may be even more severe.

There is no medical cause for this type of hyperhidrosis. It may have a hereditary component because it sometimes runs in families.

I know a lady who has been using MSM therapeutic massaging gel for nearly thirty years, as an under arms antiperspirant, and she would not use anything else. She has absolutely no odor coming from her under arms, and she prefers the natural feeling of the MSM to the chemicals and the smell of commercial deodorants. She does not have any hyperhidrosis symptoms. I mention her because if it works for her, it may work for people with hyperhidrosis symptoms.

In my layperson’s opinion, the MSM therapeutic massaging gel applied once a day by massaging the under arms or other affected body areas may help because the MSM gel feels cool when applied and MSM is known to penetrate the skin to reach the blood vessels. In doing so, it seems like MSM may reverse the direction of the sweat (and its smell) by bringing it to the blood vessels to be eliminated in the urine instead of outside the skin to cool the body.

However, I would first try to take the MSM nutritional supplement to see if it may help. This condition may be triggered by a lack of sulfur in the body.

Because of this lady’s experience, it would not cost much to try this natural solution instead of commercial chemical products or drugs that may have some side effects and an excessive cost, as most do.

Now let us talk about Plantar Hyperhidrosis or sweaty and smelly feet.

I personally have had to deal with this condition for most of my life. Because I do not believe in most commercial medical products, I have tried most natural ailments including soaking my feet in water and MSM solution without any good results. However, after searching on the internet, I found many sites with the perfect solution to my problem.

Inexpensive Baking Soda; soak your feet for fifteen to twenty minutes into a warm solution of three tablespoons of baking soda into two to three quarts (liters) of warm water. It will do the trick in a few days and then repeat every three to four days to keep the problem at bay. I also put baking soda overnight into my shoes once a week if I use them continually to keep them without any smell.

Notice: Every time you use the MSM therapeutic topical gel, make sure your hands and the massaged area are clean because the MSM penetrates the skin, and one does not want to infect the skin with dirt. Also make sure that you rub the MSM gel in until your hands and the massaged area are completely dry to avoid the MSM crystals staying on top of your skin when the gel’s water evaporates. The demineralized water-based gel contains 15% MSM, which is the maximum to avoid crystallization. So, to prevent the MSM from crystallizing in the MSM gel bottle, do not forget to close the MSM gel bottle lid after use.

The following interesting study has demonstrated that urine helped people affected with plantar hyperhidrosis. The only reason I mention this study is because it validates my own urine therapy experience mentioned in CHAPPED SKIN AND FROSTBITES and if the little MSM in the urine may help some people with plantar hyperhidrosis, an MSM water solution should help even more these sufferers.

USE OF URINE THERAPY, ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT FOR PLANTAR HYPERHIDROSIS.

Abstract (partial citation):

This study was confined to the external application of urine, and it aimed at assessing the efficacy of urine therapy as alternative treatment, compared to a control solution (25% aluminum chloride) known as a first line of treatment for plantar hyperhidrosis.

Introduction (partial citation):

Urine therapy is another alternative method widely known to local people living in remote areas. It has been used traditionally and passed from generation to generations to younger people. The basic definition of "urine therapy" is using (your own) urine internally or externally as a way to aid or sustain your health (Beatrice, 2001). Urine is a sort of information card which registers the condition of the blood. When that information is carried back to the body, the body can consequently react according to this feedback; it will normally do this in an appropriate and precise way (Beatrice, 2001). If urine is rubbed into the skin, it purifies blood and tissues, provides useful nutrients, and sends the body a signal about what is in or out of balance. This effect is called auto immunization, which brings to an important nature of urine. Urine itself is, as said, not toxic waste product (Lara, 2003).

Discussion:

The exact mode of action of urine as an alternative treatment for hyperhidrosis is not known. Lara (2003) and Christy (2005) postulated that if urine is rubbed into the skin, it provides useful nutrients and sends the body a signal about what is in or out of balance; that massaging with urine allows greater access to the body, which stimulates the immune system. The auto immunization effect of urine brings an important nature of its characteristics. It clearly has a powerful antiseptic effect when externally applied. (Christy, 2005)

As we can see above most scientists who have experienced urine therapy do not understand the exact mode of action of urine. My own opinion is it is due to the MSM content in the urine, and I am not surprised because:

1. Urine has a respectable amount of MSM.
2. MSM’s well documented immune normalizing effect.
3. MSM’s ability to pass through the skin.
4. My own urine therapy experience mentioned in CHAPPED SKIN AND FROSTBITES.
