It has been clinically observed that MSM helps people with heartburn and hyperacidity reduce their usual medication and even eliminate their use. This also goes for GERD.
A teaspoon of MSM twice a day has proven beneficial, but one can start with half a teaspoon twice a day and increase until full relief. If you are elderly, you may have to take even more. Increase the dosage slowly and avoid taking it close to bedtime as MSM increases your energy and it may disturb your sleep.
I personally use to have heartburn and GERD but have not experienced any episode in many years.
